This project originated as a solution to the last cinema in Petaluma, CA being closed.  It also became an effort to bring business and activity back into the downtown area.  A development district called the Theater District was created. We worked with the developer and community to use best practices to solve for parking and infrastructure while creating a central cornerstone that the city could use as a gathering point and attract other restaurants and business to re-enliven downtown Petaluma as a destination place.   The design for the cinema was a call back to the golden age with art deco style detailing, signage and decoration.
