Starcom / Mediavest – Interior Design
Project Location: Chicago, Illinois
Project Size: 125,850 RSF total / 25,170 RSF per floor
Project Type: Interior Design
Starcom and its parent company, Starcom Mediavest Group, real estate goal at 30 West Wacker was to increase density on their floors while providing their employees with a space that was light, open and supported their collaborative environment. Their decision to stay in the Burnett Building required a rebranding of their floors to differentiate them from the other companies in the Publicis Worldwide Network that are located on adjacent floors.
The plan removed fifty percent of the offices on the perimeter to allow more exterior light into the floor plate. Ceilings were removed on the interior, but kept at the exterior to help reflect more light inwards. New workstation standards were created to increase efficiency and density on each floor. Conferencing and collaborating hubs were created off of the main elevator bank on each floor with other supporting meeting and cafe spaces distributed throughout. Colorful and bright graphics were introduced to accent the space and reinforce their newly redefined brand image.
